Dryer Shell Verification - South Africa

Non-linear analysis and design verification of a dryer shell structure.  This design verification for a fabricator required a complex non-linear analysis of the structure's stability, as it is not fixed, but supported on rollers.  Analysis included destabilising start-up- and wind loads, as well as high temperature and material load patterns.  In order to prevent a dynamic load condition, ovalling was prevented.
